Default Finally took delivery after 9 years or lust

I just took delivery of a new, shiny red 08 S2K with black interior. What a great ride. I have been lurking around these forums for the past month or so and everything stated about the car is true. Last month, I took my Ody in for an oil change and there was a black 09 on the showroom floor. I told my son that I was going to sit in an S2k for the last time. Well, something strange happened and I just couldn't get it out of my system. Spousal approval followed (not that this was necessary but it doesn't hurt). The manual says to keep under 5,500 RPM for the 1st 600 miles so I have a ways to go before hearing the magic. BTW, if anyone in the OC is looking for a new 08 at a rocking price, Family Honda also has a new 08 Laguna Blue on the showroom floor and is asking under $29K for it. It has 300 miles (a dealer trade a while back, they said) but I went for the red one. it was look at 1st site.

Thanks. When I woke up this AM, I started questioning why I did this (encumbered myself financially). Then, as I stepped into the garage, it became clear. Pardon my French, but what a frickin' hot looking car 9 years into its life cycle. After taking half of the office for test drives today and then driving home with the top down, I am feeling more comfortable driving it and it is a blast. It is a shame that I don't have to travel that far to get to the office. My daily driver is an Ody (yeah, that's right and I am not ashamed to admit it) and the S2k is such a refreshing change. My friend is a Porsche guy (997 turbo, flashed, etc) and he was really impressed that for about twice the price of his ceramic brake option, you can get a car like this. Now, I just need to find some tamper proof seat bolts and I will feel comfortable leaving it out at a shopping center, etc.

It's the quality that matters. My commute is only 3 miles but on one of the best roads in the city (it's flat around here and most roads are straight). It sure beats a 1 hour commute on the congested freeway that most people have to endure.

Family Honda in Santa Margarita? I got my hardtop installed there and will be taking mine in for its first service there, it's an awesome dealer I've seen your red S on the lot a few times when I was there, glad it went to somebody on here!

Yep. That was it. It had been there for over 400 days. Dealer was failing and ownership changed hands on Tuesday. In fact, when we were writing it up, they actually couldn't sell it to me yet as they were awaiting for a DMV license to resume selling which arrived as we were completing the transaction. The new ownership is a large dealer group from out of the area and they probably paid much less than net dealer cost due to the age of the car hence the great deal. The new 08 Laguna Blue one is still on the showroom floor, I believe, and they are asking just under $29K. Somebody is going to great a great deal on that car. If you know anyone, have them ask for Dana as he was a gentleman and never pushed. I got the red one as it just screams at you and it is 180 degrees in contrast to my personality and specific professional stature. Just actually returned from the grocery store and it took about 8 miles each way to go 3! I still can't believe that I have this car. I am so paranoid that I made my son stay in the car (top down, of course) while I went inside. Now I just need to find a good alarm which will make me feel more secure, I guess.
