nub here. no s2k yet. looking to research and learn from all of the knowledgeable peeps here on this site. I heard that this site is the best!

Currently drive a W211 E55 AMG. Looking to research S2Ks. Perhaps my research here will tell me the best year for an S2K. Thanks all in advance.

Here's the major change breakdown [short version]:

1999 - 2003 (referred to as AP1) original model, 16" wheels, F20 2.0L, 9000RPM redline

2004 - 2005 (AP2 model), 17" wheels, F22/2.2L motor (improved TQ), redline now 8K, different gearing

2006 - 2009 VSA added (Vehicle Stability Assist), CR model variant in 2008

A few other milestones like 2002 the rear window changed to glass, some audio system updates, etc.

I wanted the newest car, with the least mileage and also wanted VSA so I basically shopped MY06 and up! I was also set on a silver car with red interior - I wound up scoring an incredible deal on a 2007, super clean with 10K miles.
