Default Getting ready to buy... '07 vs '04

I test drove an '07 at the dealer and an '04 at a used car place last weekend, and first let me say, the s2k is a blast! Top down, winding it out to 8k on a sunny so.cal Sunday afternoon... You really can't beat that.

The first car I drove was the '07 and I was very impressed, but the '04 seemed less impressive, but I'm hoping it was just the fact that it was night time, the top was up, and it was all in my head. Or is there anything worth noting that's different? One small thing was that the steering wheel seemed different? Thicker and possibly smaller on the '07? And the '07 felt zippier? Although I'm hoping I imagined that one. Or is there truth to these two illusions?

I am considering an 04 myself... not so much the 06-07s though. I want the year with the most aftermarket support at the moment.

What are your plans? Are you going to mod? Forced induction? These simple questions should make your decision easier. If you want to mod NOW, go for the 04. If you want the security of a warranty, go for the 07. Personally, I would go for the 07 and the warranty! Good luck with your decision!

if I were looking at those two MY right now - one of the big differences becomes the automatic air bag cut off/sensor that IS on the 07 & not in the 04.

seats are different - design & material.
wheels changed.
coupla other interior tweaks.

Yeah, especially if you are going to have any younger kids ride with you.
I have a daughter that is 8 so this was a big thing for me.

07 = zippier FOR THE WIN!

That's the final answer right there.
