Post Going to the dealer next week!

Hi, I've been reading this forum for awhile and found this is such a great forum with awesome info. I'm finally going to the dealer next week and see a pre-owned 01 White with red and black interior S2k with about 70K mile on it for 16,900 (maybe try to talk it down a little). And here are still some heaches I'm still struggling with between the differences of Ap1:

1)Does the plastic rear window bother you guys a lot having without the defroster? Can it be upgraded easily in the future? (I know there is a empty slot there in the dash for the rear defroster button)
2)For 02+ owners, do you feel the differents of the transmission revise?
3)I'm not familiar with what is the banjo jolt (hope I spell it right), can I mod it latter?

And some minor cosmetic stuff, like the tonnue cover changed, can I switch it easily between different year model? Does it matter a lot to you?

Finally, thanks for reading. Hope to get some answers soon. Cheers

Don

I don't know about your other questions, but the only reason I didn't even look at 00-01 is because of the plastic rear window. Not because of the rear defrost but because most of the plastic windows I have seen are all fogged/scratched. I didn't care for the extra maintainence needed to keep the plastic looking new.

I also would not want a plastic rear window.

1. No, but then again I don't drive the car during winter
2. Never driven an 02+, but the transmission feels fine in mine
3. Yes, but it takes some time to do, maybe a couple of hours.

Thanks, but I'm planning the get the S2000 next week, and I will be with it for the whole winter here in San Francisco, do you think it is going to work without the rear defroster?

Probably. The cabin in the S2000 is very small so it heats up fast.

You should be fine in SF with the plastic rear window. It can be replaced, but it is expensive and time consuming to do.

I got used to drive my A4 with the big rear window. Even though I use some anti-fog product on the window, it still get fog up sometimes. Seriously, I can't see anything, so I'm afraid it happens to the MY00-01 S2K too since it is smaller window and doesn't have a defroster. Maybe I should try it out first.

Also, I really like to know the answer of questions 2 since the tranny would be difficult to work with. Does the carbon fiber sychro have a noticeable smoothen out the shifting between gears?
