Is this a good deal?
I'm looking at a silver 2005 model at a used car dealership. It's got 74k miles on it. It has tears in the top, each about an inch. It needs 2 front tires. The rear bumper has a bit of a gap one one side, possibly due to being hit at a slow speed. I am thinking a new retaining clip might fix it. The engine has also been washed and sprayed with tire shine (or some equivalent process) - it looks good but I wonder if it was to high something. They want $14k.
Thoughts?
Do all the 2005's have HID headlights?

all year s2000's have hid headlights.
have you checked out the carfax to see if there are any accidents?
just so you know the top will cost at least 1000-1500 if you take it somewhere to have a new one installed- you can do it yourself for about 700 but it is not the easiest or quickest job.
most dealerships will clean the engine compartment to make it look nicer and more taken care of. is this a big dearlership or a little hole in the wall used car dealer?
the price seems a little high for the current condition.

By HID, do you mean the lights that have to warm up, and have a blueish white glow to them? Those are the ones I want
This car is at a hole in the wall dealership, but I just found another car on autotrader about 4 hours away. Hopefully I can rent a car and grab it tomorrow!
Oh, and the car did have 2 accidents listed on the carfax.

I found a 2004 with 78k for $13k, it looks like its in good shape from the photos, but then again.. so did the other one...
EDIT: They say the price was a typo, and it's actually $14,900, not sure if that's a good deal

I'd really advise NOT buying from a dealership. I've been looking for an S2000 for the past 2 months and I've visited all my local dealerships that had them. Nearly all of them were in bad shape (repainted panels, reverted back to stock), you could just tell hey were bottom of the barrel examples. The few cars that were in good condition were all 08's and they were asking $26k+.
Its best to be patient, check autotrader, cars.com, carfax and local S2K classifieds daily and I guarantee what your looking for will pop up within 3 months time.
