I just bought my S about a month ago. I shopped for some time, comparing individuals to dealers and looked at everything from a 2001 to a 2005. Cars ranged from 18,500.00 to 27,000.00.
fair price - not great but IMHO fair...

how about an 04 with 28K miles for $25K... Berlina Black, Black/Tan Interior, 4.56 gears, Garage life, thoroughly maintained, perfect condition all around.. a few other extras like cover, air intake, black chrome emblems, short shifter, iPod integraton (plus all OEM pieces)

Sometimes it is too difficult to wait for the great deal if you have any itchy trigger finger!

I got an offer in NJ for an 06 Laguna Blue with 841 on the odo, talked down the offer to 23K and change. You can do better!! I decided to buy new, so it's still out there. Clean carfax too.

I purchased a CPO 2005 GPW w/7,100 miles on it in Nov. for $26,000 OTD, car was listed for $29,000, you should be able to do better than that considering that its winter.

FYI, I had a dealer (Global Imports BMW in Atlanta) offer me 28k OTD ($25.5 +TTT) on a Laguna Blue '06 with 3k miles. You should be able to do better than 27k on an '05, but it depends on the desperation of the dealers and your tolerance for waiting.
