ok good to know. now to find out if the clutch is stock.

i just came from an evo with and exedy twin disk, and the s2000 cluctch pedal feels almost as stiff.

That sounds wrong; it probably is aftermarket. Stock clutch is smooth as silk. Most folks have pretty late engagement of the clutch (high in pedal travel) too.
