I have been thinking about which year of the s2000 i should purchase, I just need a little help getting a little kick start about which one to purchase, any kind of tip will help, thanks alot,

The best S2000 is the year you own........

They are all great! It just depends on how much you want to spend.

On the engine side pre 2004 had the 9k redline but a little less torque.

I would probably not get a model before 02 only because they were working out some transmission bugs and you want the glass rear window not the plastic one which was on 00-01. My 03 has never had a problem of course it only has 13k miles on it. As long as they are well taken care of they seem to be bulletproof.

98' S2000s were the best year.

If you like the 2.0 litre, get an 02-03 simply because of some of the small changes in regards to having a glass window in the convertible top, factory tweeters, "leather" console cover, etc.

If you like the 2.2 litre, anything 04 and up.

The Introductions threads usually fields these questions, but imo 02 or later are all good b/c they have glass rear windows and some mechanical kinks worked out. Like the man said though, any S you own is the best.

The best S2K to own is a brand new one. You have the full warranty, and you can break in the car correctly. You also don't have to worry about how the car has been treated by previous owners. 2006 models have VSA, which I think is a great feature.

Best of all, you get the new car smell. LOL.

 

MY 2008.!!!Will be the best to date,with a twin-turbo V-8.!!!
