After reading countless amounts of threads for 5 years and meeting other owners...yes all those stereotypes hold true to S2000 owners. Stick around longer then a few days and you'll see.

Small dick, label whore, pretentious prick, secretary, couldn't afford a 911, etc, and thats just the stereotypes. Lets talk about reliability, maintainence, etc.

Regardless the S2000 is a fantastic car. Welcome and enjoy S2ki!
small dick: you're thinking of guys that put down other guys for having nicer/more expensive cars.

I just picked up a used S2k so I'm hoping to get involved with this board and learn all that I can to improve the ownership experience. I like and enjoy the car, I just dislike the ignorant BS about random people that you don't even know. I have to tell you that people like you make me hesitant to consider myself "part of the club." I hope most people here are more open minded and not so insecure that they have to put down others just because of a car they choose to drive. After all, the one thing my 5 years of track and autox experience has taught me is that it's the driver, not the car. Get a car you like looking at, sitting in, and leaning on (figuratively) and enjoy it. IMO, the uninformed or bigoted can talk all day about how much better their cars are. I'm too busy driving and smiling to care. I suspect most Boxster owners feel the same way.

I think you mis-understood my post.

"Stigma" was mentioned in the OP without clarifying as to WHAT that stigma was. I simply threw in comments I've heard from many that would coincide with a negative stigma that you wouldn't be able to get past - personally I LOVE Porsche Boxsters, particularly the S Models, and would love to own one - minus the reliability issues, running costs, etc.

Welcome to S2ki.
