Default Honda Service Concern!

I dropped off my car to Valley Honda of Illinois to have the leather seat cover replaced because there was a hole in it. They didn't tell me that that the car was going to be driven to an upholstery shop to have the repairs done. They sent a porter to drive my car to the shop which was located 3.2 miles away. Should I be concerned that my car was "dogged?" or maybe even "over-reved?" I'm pretty upset at this moment knowing that Honda sent a porter to drive my car to get serviced. Besides the person that track tested my car upon final production, I have been the only other driver to have driven my car. I have a 2007 gpw. What signs or symptoms should I look for? my car only has 1700 miles on it.

With a rev limiter on the car I doubt it was over reved. I think you're worrying too much.

that sounds like normal procedure since most dealers does not have an upholstry shop in the premises. did you ask them to just give you new seats?

I too would be worried but just make sure to check everything before you take delivery of the car, especially for scratches or dents.

Yeah, the rev limiter will hold the engine RPM's within limits as long as you don't downshift to a low gear (2nd) at 60MPH . The engine can mechanically overrev due to powertrain inertia.

Don't worry about it too much. Life's too short. You must not have other major problems to worry about which would trump this concern

what i was worrying about initially was a mechanical over-rev. and yes, honda did give me a brand new seat cover. my main concern is 5-2 gear miss-shift.
