Hopefully owner testing waters
A friend I know history on car is selling his 05 with 105k miles with a salvaged title... He is trying to sell it for 10k but would let it go for 9k. Is that too much for something that has it's daily wear on the body?
Paint on front bumper has normal wear from daily driving like the scrapping from driveways.
Interior is like a 8 minus the steering wheel which I worn at the top. Which just can be replaced.
The head had been rebuilt with stronger springs and retainer upgrade
Refinished and lightened flywheel with a 6puck clutch.
First impression is it's high for a '05 salvage title car, you have to know why it is salvage title, theft recovery not a big deal assuming all the stolen parts were replaced, accident of over X% of the value of the vehicle, then repaired, not as good. My general rule of thumb is that a car with a salvage title due to crash damage is worth about 35-40% less than an equivalent non crashed and repaired car. You can calculate back into what the car is worth. I think it should be less than $9K (depending on local pricing). You can get into a salvage title car cheaper, but a lot of people won't consider buying it when you want to resell and sooner or later you'll end up selling it.
"Driver fender has a little damage from hitting pot hole but can be hidden with fender flares.

Honestly id personally stay away from this car. You stated that the fender has a little damage from hitting a pot hole, which can be covered up. This doesn't seem right at all, seems like the car is not cared for properly, I mean how hard did he have to hit a pot hole to cause damage to a fender? Its sounds like the owner just wants to get rid of it and it doesn't seem like the s2000 was very respected. You don't want to spend 9 thousand on a car, put another 200-300 in flares just to "cover" the damage. Plus the steering wheel is worn. I have a 2001 and the steering wheel is almost in perfect condition, seats have covers, top is always reconditioned, paint is waxed, clayed, and always washed. Even though my car is older, me and the previous owner cared for it properly and it shows through the condition. I see you spending 9000 on a car, 200-300 in flares, the clutch master cylinder is probably leaking + 87$ in parts, valve adjustment at 100k miles +100$ in labor, and even worst the car is salvaged. You may trust a salvaged title car however you will have a difficult time reselling. Clean s2000s go very fast I would advise you to get one that is a clean title unless you know the history and the seller gives you a honest vibe of what happened; otherwise they are BSing you. Not only that, you could get an AP1 same mileage, clean title for around that price. I see them for mid 10k around my area.
