Hello world!

Well, S2KI world at least. My name is Jake, 19 yrs old, live in Michigan, but serve in the US Army and stationed in S. Korea for the time being.

I currently drive a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 s/r (long I know) and love it! It was my first car (mtx) and I have done all of the work to it. This car is what brought my mechanic side out and interest in cars! Along w/ my zx2 came a very helpful website (TeamZX2) and some great friends, one of which got me in to Auto-x.

I'm hoping the same thing can happen here, even though I don't on a S2000 yet. I originally (few months ago) wanted to get a Miata, seeing how well they did in auto-x but recently remembered how sexy the S2000 was, did some reserach, realized how powerful she was, and instantly changed my mind! My plan is to purchase one here in Korea to tinker with on the weekends (great stress reliever) or save up and buy one when we transfer to Texas in April. I am going down this weekend to look at a red 07 w/ 29k for $19,950. According to kbb its a great price but we shall see!

Being a newb once, I know all about the search bar and doing ones own research. Found some great new things and great overall information, including the always included question: first mods! Only thing I could not find was how the ride was for a shorter driver. Being only 5' 4", I worry how low the seat sits? Anybody as short as I with any problems?

I'm hoping this is the best site for the s2000 and I can learn many things before buying my first one! Its great to meet anyone and everyone!

I would think being shorter is better since you'll be covered by the roll bar. I know I've seen pics of taller people and their head is a few inches above the roll bar!!!

I'm 6'2"...I would think a 5'4" person would have a better fit than I do, so I wouldn't worry about any problems.

Really the only problem my height gives me is, the top of the windshield is right in my line of site when trying to view signals if I am the first in line.

Thanks for your service (in my mother land). I hope you're not eating too much kim-chee. As far as your height, you don't have to worry. The S will fit you perfectly. I've met plenty of S owners who are about your height. Good luck!

Welcome to the s2ki community. I'm also in the military, and was stationed in S. Korea 07-08. I have no regrets buying my s2k. GLW purchase.

Hopefully the car you are considering is a US spec S2000. May have some issues bringing it back if not. Good luck on the purchase and thank you for your service.
