Thumbs up HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH?

Hello again..

Last time here, the faithful talked me out an 01 SC'd flood car... thank you, I am in your debt.

Update: Looking at an 01 with 13k miles with the mods and cost listed below (half of which I have no idea what the stuff is and whether it is overkill - recall, I am reasonably mechanically challenged)

Fact: Seller is asking 27.5 firm.

Dilemma: Is a 5 year old car with the listed mods worth the asking price or would you consider a low mileage 04 for 23k (with the idea of an SC in the near future)? In essence, is newer the better choice in the long run or is the 01 a super buy that should not be passed up?

Additional info from the seller: [I]The car is fine to redline

Wow, he's pretty optimistic with these prices. If he paid this much, he's not that bright.

He sounds like a shady guy, I would stay clear of this one.

don't buy...

do you want a car that has probably been treated well (the 04)

or

a car that has forced induction and you know has been beat to hell, raced, and who knows what else.

i say go for the 04, forget this guy

Well some of the prices seem normal. But he is trying to get back more than 50% for them, which is not realistic.

Get an 04 and sc it, who wants an 01 with the old interior and plastic rear window...

Another vote for the 04.

I'd like to go FI in the future, but I wouldn't consider buying an S2000 that has it done already. It's like a trust thing.

Where did you find the buyer? I would stay away from this, 27.5 K is an awful lot for an '01, SC and HRE's or not. I would go with the '04 and mod it to your discretion.

Get the MY04 s2k. That price is too high for an MY01.
