at 22k i wouldnt even consider it.

I purchased my '00 with 10,890 miles for 17,5 before taxes and reg.....AT A HONDA DEALER this past Saturday. Looks like you have a high budget. Might as well go 02+ and get it supercharged yourself. So you know the history of the car and you can make sure it was done right.

Maybe he paid for installation, and those parts are parts + installation. I think a dealer will charge $2k for parts and labor on the OEM aero parts.

At 22k I'd definetely consider it. It only has 13k miles, at that price, I'd probably choose that.

I buy modded cars all the time.. part them out.. and have a very very cheap daily or I just resell the car again. Sometimes its a smart move and sometimes it can backfire. Just have to find out what condition the car/parts are in and if the parts are in demand.

See I don't get that. You think an 00 with 11k miles for about $19.2k out the door from a HONDA DEALER means that you automatically are insured against bad things? How do you know those weren't 11k of beaten driving? Then of course, whoever heard of a used car dealer selling you a bad car. <----Sarcasm

It's an used car, so no matter what it's going to be a crap shoot. If he bought an 02+ as you suggest he's just as likely to be rolling the dice. I mean how many S2000 guys on this board, modified their car and returned it back to stock? As long as it's checked out the modified car is just as good as a stock one.
I did not mean it like that. I meant it as usually preowned cars sold from their manufacturer dealer goes for a higher price. Soo..meaning he can get a better deal.

Also, I meant he should get an 02+ to avoid the little things like plastic window (doesnt bother me), radio, clutchbuzz (which i get fixed later in the week), and I don't know what else.

Yes, the pre-modded car is a nice but for 27k it is not nice. Why not just get everything done yourself? In my humble opinion, it's fun modding a car slowly. I would never just buy a finished car. BUT that is me.

Anyway, good luck threadstarter with whatever route you decide to choose.

Hey Guys,

Thank you again for all the sage advise.

To answer a few questions;

1. As far as mods go, an SC alone would probably make me happy from a mechanical standpoint. I have little idea what the rest of the mods are that he listed. From an aesthetic standpoint, I would add the Veilside tonneau cover.

2. At 13k miles, I would not think the car had been trashed much, though wonder why the rear end addition thingie wasn't already added, if it is what the car needs to accomdate the power and considering all the mods already on the car. This issue truly would be my biggest hesitation, even at 22k.

In the end, chances are I will continue to pursue an 04 and look to add the 2 mods mentioned above.

Thank you again.
