Default I am a new S2k owner !

Hi everyone, my name is David. I've become a new S2k owner since 02/20/06.
This is my birthday gift (for myself) my bday was on 2/22. I was driving a 99.5 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. I love the car, but then audi had oil pump issue, my engine got locked out, hence I was shopping around to get a 2nd vehicle.

I was debating between 03 M3 coupe, 06 IS350, and 06 S2k. This is the first that I purchase a car from my own wallet. Therefore, M3 was out of the equation. I love the germans, but then they cost too much to maintain, also the performance parts are way too expensive compare with the Japanese in general. Of course S2k Mugen and Spoon parts are expensive too but in general, japanese cars are more reliable comparing with the germans.

IS350 is a great car, it has all the high tech options which I like the most. However, when i test drove the car, I felt hm...it's a great car but I did not have the passion wanting to own it so bad until I test drove the S2k.

My good buddy owned a 03 suzuka S2k, and I had his ride several times when he was pushing his baby at late night. I love the superior handling particularly what s2k offers than sport sedens (audi's, bimmer, and lexus)
When i test drove the s2k in the dealer, I was smiling from the moment I push the start engine buttom until i returned back to the dealer. It was just an amazing drive: totally diff feeling when you sitting at the driver's seat and the passenger's seat.

Anyhow, I've decided to go with S2k as my 1st true 2 dr sport roadster. The car was delivered on the 2/20/06, and it only had 4 miles on it. I finalized the deal for $32,900 OTD and it was not the best price, and yet, it was still a pretty decent price since the car was brand new with 4 miles on it. Also, the dealer gave me a 6 yr 100,000 mile warranty on it just incase the power convertable may break.

Now, 4 days have past, and I've put down 130 miles on it, i am still trying to get the feeling of the car, and how the car handles..etc.

My future mods will begin with engine bar, BBK, and customized navigation system from my audi (pioneer AVIC-N1). Still have to figure out how to clear the shifter and the dashboard with the flip screen navigation system. Also, I will put an auto dimming rear view mirror just to make myself feel more comfortable when I am driving in front of those xenon/HID SUV's.

I am glad that I've goten this car, this car out beats Z4 3.0i, SLK 350 and of cours 350Z. I hate the Z interior, Z4 rides like a lincoln, slk is over priced unless you get the AMG version which i do not have the cash for it.

I believe i've made a smart choice, on this vehicle, and my choice of color was
black on black. I was also debating between suzuka blue, yet i think black may make the car look more aggressive in nature.

So I am here to say hi to all the people on the board, and if anyone around northern virginia driving S2k, i am also interested in meet and talk about cars..etc.

WELCOME!!!!! You definitely made the right choice, black shows the curves of the car, but suzuka blue makes chicks drop their panties on site. You'll find this is a great site with alot of informative people, but if you're still unsure about something then just wait untill xviper replies

Oh, and watch out for tight turns in the rain! Good luck!!
