I finally have a car I am proud of
Hello everyone
My name is Matthew.
I just purchased a 06 Silver S2K today. I should take delivery sometime this week. I live in Columbus GA. If anyone is near by. My friends and I meet up from time to time.
I found a gem for only 19k. with only 10k miles on it.
Would anyone recommend the warranty?
Notice the title of the thread...I mean it.
Past cars
1989 oldsmobile delta 88
1995 Lincoln Mark 8
2006 Toyota Yaris
2008 Suzuki SX4
2006 Honda S2000
if you notice this is a huge jump for me. Any suggestions from anyone?
What were your first mods?
What oil do you prefer?
Was it hard to switch to a two seater?

Good to hear you're proud of your new car! S2000s really are amazing cars.
My first mod was a shift knob since it's so cheap and easy to install. As for performance mods, it really depends on what you want to do with the car.
As long as you are using synthetic oil (I prefer to stick with the stock 10W30) you should be fine. Remember, it's more important to check your oil often and change it often than to try using the "right" oil, especially with the S2000 because they more oil than other cars due to the nature of its high performance engine.
I got used to two seats really quickly! I guess that's maybe I usually drive alone though.

I will check the oil out. Thanks for the tip!
For drifting (which is good to learn the handling of your car), I would get coilovers, non staggered wheels and tires, a 2 way LSD, baffled oil pan to keep the engine happy, and you're good!
That's if you want to get serious though. I drifted my nearly stock AP1 as you can see in one of my videos. Oh and I have a Suzuki SX4 too!
Oh and a bucket seat helps a lot too. I learned the hard way with my knees ending up all bruised, and struggling to downshift mid drift while bracing onto the steering wheel lol

Welcome to the site and congrats on your purchase. My first mod was a shift knob also, and it wasn't hard at all to adjust to a two seat vehicle. I actually prefer not having back seats.
Welcome Push, I don't think you'll need a warranty, mine never broke. As far as mods, drive it for a while see what you may want, I think about it everytime I drive mine and realize it is just about perfect the way it is.

and welcome......
