So I was on the market a few months ago for a car and I was trying to get an Evo IX. As soon as I got enough money to spend for it I went out and started to look for and test drive those cars. But to my dismay, when I checked on my insurance quote it was out the roof (my 2 speeding tickets probably didn't help). Now I was stuck. One day I went into a used car dealer to see what cars they had. I saw a black '04 S2000. I never put the S on my potential car list because it only had 2 seats and a very small trunk. The salesman walked up to me and asked with a smirk, "Would you like to take her for a test drive?" I said, "Yea, what the hell." Big mistake. The dealership had a little mountain close to it and that bastard of a salesman took me there! I immediately got drunk off of the "feel" of the car. Within the next week I test drove an '06 and an '02 S. After 2 more days I bought the '02, it's a beautiful Sebring Silver color. I like the pre '04's a little better because it feels a little more "hardcore" to me. A little piece of advice: Don't test drive an S2000 unless you are planning to buy one!

p.s. I guess it wasn't a mistake since I absolutely love my car. But she still robbed me.

 

Same thing happend to me, tho I was lookin at the MR2's, tested out the s2k, and left with it the same day You dont know what your missing til you drive one.

 

yeah same thing with me. the first on ramp i hit i said out loud "I HAVE GOT to get me one of these!"

The S lured me in on the test drive as well. I was expecting to buy myself an STi, but a test drive in the S2000, along with a $2000 price drop at the dealer, sealed my fate.

Thanks for all the replies. I thought that there would be other people who got "robbed" like me. When my friends first asked me why I got the car, I would say, "It's too much fun. It feels too good" then I would laugh a little as if I was a little boy on Christmas Day. This one girl looked at me like I was crazy. Oh yea, and I would like to say hi to all the S2ki peoples. The forums are great since I'm a "home mechanic".
