Default I knew better

I've been a member for a few years and never had the chance to write anything (to busy working offshore)
so every 28 days when I get off my ship I have 2 weeks off I jump in my Black Beauty and I'm off.
I was driving about 40mph when a Camaro pulled along side and the driver gave me that look IM SURE YOU
ALL KNOW THAT CERTAIN LOOK....WELL WE TOOK OFF....and I beat him hands down but I was coming up to a red
light and I shifted from 6th to 4th....but NO I missed and went into 2nd instead....well it must have hit 11-12,000RPM
I stopped at the light ok...but it went no further. I must have blown the crank bearings.
I'm and old mechanic from the 70s and 80s and never opened up a Honda engine. So do I rebuild or buy another engine.
Do you guys have what I might need, like good advise besides stop racing I'm too old...thanks guys Georgie7707

Hello and welcome to the Forums! You should rebuild it, buying another engine is quiet costly.

Tear it apart and go from there, depending on the damage you may have inflicted. it might very well be more cost effective to pick up an engine second hand.

You may have just damage the top end. Specifically, the valve retainers --- if this is an AP1 engine --- or floated some valves. Pull the valve cover & inspect them.
