Default I need a some S2K owners opinions.

Well basically I am in a pickle. I currently own a Red 1999 Civic Ex Coupe. My car before this was a Nissan 240sx and since going from that to the honda, I miss RWD. I just got a new job that pays double my last job and my civic feels pointless to throw any more money at it because I want speed. Basically I want a car thats fast, handles well, has a 6 speed, and something not everyone at the local street races has fixed up. I have looked at the 350z, G35, WRX, evo and I just test drove a 06 S2K today. Many people I know talk trash about S2Ks saying they are girl cars, that only gay/bi people own them, or that since its convertable its retarded but there is something about it that just keeps me looking. Kinda like that girl that everyone seems to talk shit about but you think she's cute. So I came to the source and want to know what your guys opinions/expierences with the car are. Does it handle better then the cars I am looking at, how it does in time attack, I dont know just anything that is good or bad about it or the other cars that will help me decide. I will most likely be buying used and Im 19 so what am I looking at for insurance. I hope you guys can help and soon because i am the type of guy that will lose sleep over what to do lol.

P.S. S2K000 your car is one of the main reasons that I didnt listen to the other peoples opinions about the s2k. Love the car and cant wait for your car to be in HCI next issue. Got anymore pics?

Here is a pic of my honda

wow, nice civic.

no offense, but im not sure the s2k is for you. it will never be a popular car among your peers as it sounds weak on paper and you seem to care about what they think.

the s2000 is a ferrari for $20k used. no joke. outhandles and is more fun than any of those other cars, but will not win drag races. if you get one, just be ready to appreciate it for what it is.

I own an E46 M3, and used to have an NSX.

S2000 is my garage queen. Any questions?

It would be pretty sad to find out if the car you buy from a dealership got beaten to death during test drives. Private party sellers are a little better, though they can sometimes also deceive you.

You won't find a better gearbox in any of those other vehicles compared to the S... Hard to find better reliability too for a sports car like this one...
It's safe to say that we all love our cars on here, highly enjoy them for what they are, bought them over the others for specific reasons, and do not have a single regret about it...
I'd suggest keep doing more homework on all the cars you mentioned, test drive 'em reasonably, and go from there... Only 'bad' thing I can tell you about the S is don't expect much from bolt-on mods with her compared to those other cars, short of F.I., if she isn't fast enough for you stock...
This is my 2nd S2K if that tells ya anything... I 'em

I dont care what people say because when you drive a civic its hard to stand out so you try to be different. I was just trying to see why so many people have negative opinions and trying to see it from their POV but I cant lol. I love how the car looks and with so many people hating on it it will make it worth it when they say "I dont like S2Ks but I love your car." I get that all the time about people hating civics but they like mine. Im just trying to do my home work on all these cars before I jump the gun and get into something that Ill regret or lose money in.

I dont care if its not much of a drag car because if I did then my civic being FWD wouldnt be that big of an issue. I like drag racing but Im more umm I guess well rounded because I love cars and there is more then the world of drag racing. I wouldnt mind doing canyon runs, or cruzing the top down or later when I stop worrying about recking the S take it drifting.

it's because your buddies can't afford an s2000 like you can...

all comes down to sour grapes

Jealousy is sad thing.

People that trash talk the S2K has never owned one or has never driven one... but I bet you, they wish they have one.
