Go with the S2k, you will not regret it. As everyone has mentioned, the control and reliability is awesome. I've had my S for about a month now and cannot think of any other car that would be better. Just waiting for it to warm up so I can finally cruise with the top down for the first time. I did a few ice sliding, donut making, fishtailing yesterday in a Meijer parking lot and it was the greatest rush I've had in it. I felt in control the whole time I was sliding and spinning. If you like that, get one..

Dont worry everyone, there was not a car within a block close to me. It was late at night. I was being safe I swear..

Thanks Guys!

So now the hunt is on. GPW w/ Red or Black Interior. Low miles. And finding someone to buy my honda or just part it out.

Any Common problems that all S2K's get that I should worry about if they havent been taken care of by the warranty? What year and good/bad changes they made from 2000-present?

the s2000 is a ferrari for $20k used. no joke.
the s2000 is a nice car but referencing a ferrari to it is an insult to ferraris.

they only made the gpw/red interior for a year or two...i believe 2002 and possibly one other year. i know for a fact the 2004 and 2005 had tan interiors so that should rule out those years.

i'd recommend getting a 2002 or newer because of the rear glass window and 'better' stereo...sounds like it's going to be your main car and these two things are improvements over the older ones.

of course the 2.0 engine used from 2000 - 2003 and 2.2 (8k redline) 2004 and newer.

honestly if you don't mind the serious lack of torque for a sports car, being somewhat cramped and a convertible is your thing i can't think of any other reasons you wouldn't like the car. good luck with the search!

i hate sounding like a jerk, but have you driven a ferrari and if not, how would you know it's insulting to them?

no i haven't driven a ferrari, and you don't sound like a jerk.
i don't have to drive a z06 to know that it's fast and i don't have to drive a ford f350 to know that it doesn't handle well.

ferraris to me are very special cars...delicate but powerful, finicky but rewarding, hand made in the true sense of the word...most are mid-engined and have attention to detail far superior to most other cars.

the s2000 may be a great sports car but it's no ferrari.

If you do get an s2k and its speed gets tiresome, FI is your friend.
Turbo at 7 psi you'll be at 320-350 easy.
The ppl who talk smack about it usually cant afford it (sometimes)
Good luck dude

Lack of torque? turbo.
Other cars beating you off the line? turbo.
Want everyone to admire your car? turbo.

That will shut them all up quite nicely

I agree. Just check out the latest issue of Modified Mag. 616rwhp in a car that weighs around 2600lbs. Of course, that's the extreme, but 500rwhp is easily achievable with a turbo. If you do want to do the turbo, go with a MY03 or older. The MY00 is the lightest, but makes sacrifices (plastic rear window, AWFUL stereo). GPW/red is an amazing combo, my dad had 2 Vettes that were white/red and they looked sick.

p.s. I would take an S2k over a Ferrari 308 any day of the week.
