Well I'm starting to look around and check out the forums for info about owning one. Right now I have an 06 STi and a 95 Miata. The STi is the most fun I've had because it does it all. I have it prepped for STU autox and it's a blast on the street. I've done track days and 2 1/2 years of autoxing with that car. The miata on the other hand I just don't enjoy that much. I still need to drive a s2k, actually I drove one once about 6 years ago but I need a fresher image in my mind. I'm looking to get rid of the STi and the Miata to get a s2k. Now a friend of mine who has one says I'll be disapointed because before I got the STi I had an Elise. I just really want to get back in a sportscar and get away from my STi payment. The biggest problem I have with the Miata is the lack of power being used to my STi that puts down 284 HP and 330 TQ. So do any of y'all think I won't enjoy it?

I personally went from a 2004 STi to a 2002 S2000 and it was a great move. Yes I missed the power of the subaru, but the S2000 is so much more fun. When you put the top down on a nice day and listen to the S...not to mention how amazing the handling is, there's nothing better. I'm looking to get into another one soon.

The S will be faster than your miata but will not come anywhere close to your STi. That's apples and oranges. GL.

Welcome!!

It will be very hard to get used to the s2k's torque after you've had a torque monster like the STi.

You'll probably enjoy the transmission a lot better in the s2k. As well as the steering.

The handling may be tougher for you to gauge. Your car is a fully built STU car. Unless you can find someone who as a similarly built s2k, then you might be able to compare. But stock against your STi would not be a fair comparison...and the car you drive may even have sub-standard tires (it's amazing how many people will give up grip for longer tire wear and lower cost).

Yeah, the STi is fully built for the class, but I softened up the springs for our local lot and DD. I think I'll be alright with it but mine will always have good tires on it. The STi rides on whatever STU tires I'm using at the time. I still need to find one to drive though.
