Hello everyone. I thought I would introduce myself since this site has given me so much information on the S 2000. Let me start by saying that I would consider myself a "above average" enthusiast but not quite "serious" as far as in terms of money spent goes. I am not a hater and appreciate ALL makes and models of nice cars and cars done right. Defintely a "Wash and Wax Whacko", love the term btw, have been ever since I owned my first S-10. I have owned three new cars, all Hondas, I guess I am a little bit of a Hondaphile. A 2000 NBP Civic Si coupe, loved the B-16 with the "real" VTEC, for just 1.6 liters that thing more than surprised a few mustangs
. Started small on that one with just a AEM cold air intake and nice stereo system. Got into four accidents with it. None of them were my fault so I decided that maybe it was a bad luck car and traded it for a 2002 NBP Si EP3. That car I went a little further with. I did wheels ,suspension, i/h/e as well as the Hondata reflash and even a better stereo system.(Sounded awsome in the hatchback
.) I loved the interior in that car and I still feel that in that price range it is still the best interior around. But I felt that the K20a3 was a little weak and wanted the "real" VTEC back. I had always looked at the S 2000 knew what it was and wanted one, so I decided to pull the trigger and get one while I still could get good money on my Civic. So I got a brand new 2006 Silverstone/Black- Red in March of 07' for a great deal because it was a left over. I got it with the OEM spoiler, side skirts and the front lip.( I also have a S-10 pickup for bad weather and winter hence the only S's and #'s
) . I bought it because it is such a fantastic car out of the box. This site was instramental in deteriming what I was to do to my car. For performance I went with the AUT cooling plate, K&N Filter, blocked resonator box, heat shield wrapped intake tube and box(works great to keep the filter cool), Heat = the enemy
and that will be it...for now. For the stereo I have a Pioneer DEH-790BTMP head unit with a Pioneer 12 disc changer in the trunk,Boston Accoustics Pro Audio 6.5 component speakers, aslo a set of extra Pro Audio tweeters in the outside speaker of the roll bar(helps a ton with the sound), a Critical Mass 8 inch mid-bass subwoofer in a custom box behinnd the passenger seat (this sub is shallow so it doesn't take up too much room and adds a nice little punch to the system). Though I do miss the deep response of my two MTX Black Gold 10's I wanted to keep my trunk space. Memphis Audio Amps, 100x2 for the components and a 500x1 for the Sub. The amps are custom mounted on the sides of the trunk so almost all of my trunk space is useable and the whole setup looks like it could have come with the car. It is real clean. As far as the paint I have clayed it (Meguires), Klasse AIO and Sealent Glaze (2 coats) and a coat of Pinnacle Souveran Carnuba wax. I wash it with either Zymol or Meguiers and the requiste good clean!! wash mitts and microfiber products. Nothing dirty touches the car. It looks amazing. On the interior I use Lexol for the leather and 303 for the viynl. I also use the 303 for the top and love the stuff for the shine and protection. I love this car. Like a lot of people just driving around brings a silly little smile to my face just listening to the intake and exhaust. Each Honda I have owned has been a little better than the one before it, and this is the best one yet. I look foward to using the site for information in the future and helping with any information or advice I may have.
Thank You, Jim
