Torque is overrated and is easily forgotten after strapping into the cockpit of an S2000 and doing a mountain drive through the twisties. (And I've driven an STi and a C5 vette before so I know torque well )

Jamie, you will do well to post (and search) over in the S2000 Talk forum. These kinds of things are discussed often over there.

Best wishes.

Hey guys, just wanted to say a quick hello as I am new here. Not new to the car scene or the whole forum thing, just this forum.

My brother was an active member on this forum, his screen name was nine grand. Last year he sold his S2k and got an STi. I am thinking about picking up a used S2k now because I was in love with his car when he had it. I know a few guys from the metro NY section that I met at meets with my brother. Before this car I had a WRX that I had a lot of work done to. I sold it to get myself out of debt, which I have. Now I am in the market for a new toy. Besides the S2k I am also considering a FD RX7, E36 M3, RX8 and 350Z. What do you guys think would be the best car for me. I need something that will only be used on the weekends. I have a work car for everyday use so this new car will just be a play toy. I am looking to spend less then $20,000 because I just got out of debt and don't want to get back into it! Plus the F20 owns all!!

Any input you guys have would be great.
Thanks

P.S. Why cant I upload my avatar?
P.S.S. Just for referance, this is my old car:

Scott, welcome aboard!

If you have any questions for us, just shout. Also, definitely check out the Atlanta s2ki forum to get acquainted with the local owners. Perhaps you'll drum up some business too.

Best wishes, and greetings from rainy New England.

I remember your brother on here, Drew! I assume your signature is talking about him, not the S2000!

Your WRX was a pretty cool car! Very slick.

Welcome aboard, and I hope you choose the S. Of course, I'm quite biased, but at least compared to the Z and the RX-8, it's no contest. The Bimmer and last-gen RX-7 are wonderful cars, though quite different than the S and not really comparable. Good luck in your choice.

Oh, word of advice, if you intend to mod the daylights out of your S, you will rapidly put yourself back in debt. You might do better with a Z just from the point of view of availability/cost of mods.

Thanks for the advice. I do plan on modding the S if I get one, but I dont plan on going crazy with it. Just a few things here and there, all cash as I have the money for it. I learned from my past mistakes, I won't do that again!

Yes, the sig is in referance to my brother, not the car. The car was great and the reason I am considering a S2k.

How come my I cant upload my avatar?

Thanks
