Hey guys - bought an 05 rio yellow in November - what a car .
The dealer I bought the car from failed to mention the run in period (600 miles no V-Tech) - also, they didnt have any Owners manuals available yet, and I naturally didnt read about it either.
I have been driving in V-Tech since I got it. Please tell me I haven't damaged my baby by not running her in. Most factory cars today dont have a run in period and so I assumed that the S wouldnt either.

IMS,
A couple of things about your car.
1. It's VTEC (not V-Tech). VTEC is Honda's variable valve timing mechanism that provides a power boost as engine revs. climb.
2. S2000s have some ideosyncracies that are covered in the owner's manual. If you haven't read it, please take the time to go cover-to-cover.
3. Please keep your eye on your oil consumption. I'm concerned that without any information, you might not be aware that these engines have an appetite for oil.
My guess is that you haven't done any damage, IMS.

Today I picked up a 02' Suzuka Blue with 20K on the O.D. and a brand new Top with a glass window for an amazing 21k OTD. I am very happy it was snowing at the dealership, Because the salesman would probably rip me off if it was nice any other day, BTW Chazmo, I did not try to earn brownie points with you, We just have good taste in colors and Years.
Congrats, Capitol! Ditto what Levi just said... We blues think alike!
I hope you love this car as much as I do. I find it amazing that after 3+ years of ownership I still feel this car is as special (probably more so) as my first day taking it from the dealer's lot.
What region are you in? Since you're talking about snow, please get some proper snow tires for the car if you're going to use the car through the winter (I usually recommend Blizzak WS-50s).
My best wishes! Consider becoming a s2ki member.
