Introduce yourself here!
Hi everyone,
After a long consideration between S2k & 350z and opportunity came up (a friend of mine getting rid of his S2k). I bought the car (AP1) a month ago and i've been loving it. I'm glad i got this car, instead of the boring 350z
.
This friend of mine was a manager at a honda dealership so he got a very good maintance on it and this car was his weekend car, so it's low mileage. He also got all the factory accessories/options (even the car cover and the top cover).
i'm looking to get new wheels and perhaps new cool air intake and lowering.
Looking forwards to talk to the members of s2ki community

Sweet!!!!! Welcome, missleman!
I'm hearing a little more of that than usual (and I've been hearing it every year since 2000)... I honestly would figure on at least another couple of years (through 2008) given the revamps on the 2006 model. I guess we'll see. Let's not bother speculating though.

Hi all, I bought a new S2000 about 3 weeks ago and I just thought I'd make my first post to this forum. Lovin it so far. Here's some picks of my first minor interior mod. (hopefully the pics are visible and I fugured out this forum correctly) I can't stand those airbag warning labels. I saw Rick's visor covers, but my mom was kind enough to sew me the same thing with a red stripe. What do you guys think?

Chazmo, what's the skinny on getting/logging on as a "member"? Logged on, but....what's next? thx
BTW, still working on how to load up Pix, will send in a couple soonest. Again, happier than a clam about the new ride....
Anyone, I drove a lot of '05's, looked for a good deal on a "leftover", but could'nt find one at/near invoice, so took the leap on a '06...both i and the missus thought that the interior was "larger", can't explain, others have said there was a new seat design. But, honestly, it really felt bigger inside...not that 'big' is part of the idea, of course.
Hey, one more thing - I've had my 7-yr-old daughter in the pass side, and she doesn't set off the air bag "Off" light. Does that mean she's OK to ride? Had the seat back all the way, and strapped her in, and of course drove sanely, but the manual does'nt say much about kids in these cars....thoughts? thx all, missileman

Hi missleman...
There's some info about s2ki.com membership at the top of the introductions page. If your questions aren't answered in that thread, let me know and I'll try to find out for you.
Membership affords you some nice benefits, and helps support the administration of the site (which is in need of computer expansion at the moment). It's also likely that guest privileges will be scaled back soon (TBD).
BTW, the seat design is different on the MY06. Interesting that that translates into a bigger feel to you.

Hi guys/Gals, New member here.
Came across your site on the uk owners club and just signed up today(whilst in work looking for a 2000 onthe net). got a few questions about the 2000 since my local dealer is pants. sorry if this is the wrong place to post em and if it is just tell me where to post em.
1. Ive looked at several websites that say early models say pre 02 have poor handeling compared to the later models. Im not looking at spending a fortune on my 2000 as im only 22 fresh out of uni but this kind of worries me. However i am a keen modder so will a set of coilovers and strut bars sort out this handleing problem?
2. Revisions to the S2000>99-06
Any help would be great people as im sure most of you proberbly know more than my local honda dealer.
Cheers

Punisher,
Welcome to the site, and consider becoming a member if you want to help support the type of information sharing you see here.
Regarding #1... Rubbish! Absolute crap. The suspension changes and alignment changes in Europe in MY02 did control oversteer a little bit. All versions of the S2000 oversteer, and properly-instructed drivers use this to their advantage. The best solution to the so-called "handling problem" is experience and high-performance drivers courses, which I'm sure are available in Europe!
#2... I'd do some reading around the site on this subject. There have been a plethora of changes over the years. Just scan around S2000 Talk and under-the-hood forums for some comparos. Also, look at the FAQ thread at the top of this forum and see if that helps.
Best wishes, and welcome aboard.
