Welcome to the site, nice looking white S you have there. Maybe I'll see you next year if you ever get down to the states.

Well this is kind of strange. Almost like walking into the opposing teams locker room lol

I have an 06 350z that I am selling because although I love the Z I sadly got an AT and really wanted to have a manual sports car and a vert.

The S2000 is also a lot more reliable overall and for me to get a vert Z I would have to spend way more than what it cost for an 05 S2k

I debated on getting one of these originally but passed and got the Z.

Good thing is I'm more than used to having a rear wheel drive car, along with driving in tons of rain and a little ice.

That will help because it means all I have to do is learn to drive a stick.
Not also learn how to drive a high powered rwd car.

Looking to pick up MY05 NFR w 11k tommorow for 23.5
Or it may once again end up being an 05 Rio Yellow for around 22.5 with 18k. Going to look at it tommorow

Hi, after wanting an s2000 for about 5 years and lurking on this site for the last couple of years I finally got an '06. I just moved to San Francisco from NYC where I had an '04 WRX. I am loving this car , and it is perfect for the Bay Area!

Well I picked up my 05 NFR S2k with 11.2k on it. Had the dealer drive it to my apartment. Then I started out in a parking lot and sucked bad. Then after getting the very basics of at least getting to third I just went for it and drove on the freeway, downtown and around my house. Other than misshifting into 1st instead of 3rd on turns on residential roads and sometimes stalling at take off I'm doing pretty well. I'm confident that I know what I'm doing. I figure if in 2.5hrs I can at least learn to drive on every type of road at night then in a week or so I should be doing this stuff without thinking

Thanks to everyone who gave advice

Yea. I was surprised at how like after an hour or two I had the general gist of things and then when I just decided fuk it I gotta learn sometime, and just went for it I was able to make around a 40mile trip twice at night which included lots of downtown and freeway driving.

I will say this compared to my Z it is a lot easier to drive the S. With the Z I was constantly having to make tiny adjustments to stay straight when on the freeway.

Also this is the only car that I've ever had where the heat when turned all the way up gets hot enough to burn you if you leave your hand there long enough. I think thats great since last night was a little chilly but of course I still had the top down.

Yes, the heat does get hot. Up here in New England that's damn welcome.

Enjoy, Lookin... You can make yourself an owner rather than an enthusiast by editing your profile in the MyS2K page (see link at top of the page).

Oh I forgot about that.

I do have one question. Ok maybe more than that. Whenever I'm shifting from 1-2 its really jerky. I usually shift around 11-13mph. All the rest of the shifts are smooth. Especially 4-5 and 5-6. Feels smoother some autos I'v driven but 1-2 makes me look like a total newb(which I am).

Also once I'm stopped at a light is it mandatory to keep the clutch pushed in all the way if I'm staying in first because I know I'm going to take off soon or can I leave it just shy of the engagement point.

Other than that I love this car. I've gotten to experience getting stopped on a ramp thats pretty steep and was able to not roll back or stall.

Now I wonder why people make it seem like its so hard.

I also don't get why people say the stereo sucks so bad. Its better than my stock one in my Z thats for sure. I can still here it with the top down at 75mph.
