Hey everyone my name's Tj. I own a 01 Grand Prix White with black and red interior. Owned the car for about 7 years now and I'm finally in a position where I can start modding and building it up! TBH, what brought me here was all the great info on the dreaded timing chain tensioner! At 67k it's starting to let go. Saw some great information on the topic. Just wanted to say hey!

Hello, my name is Steve. Just bought

2004 Grand Prix White with tan interior.
126k Miles
Purchased on 5/28/16
2 Owners, 2nd owner has had car since it had 13k miles on it.
Clean Title
Clean Carfax with No accidents
Bone stock, no mods.

$2500.00

Always wanted one of these cars and am happy to finally have one. Noticed it for sale on craigslist for $2500 when it was up for only 45 minutes. I did not think I was going to end up getting it because he reposted it for $5000 after he already agreed to sell it to me for $2500. I vigorously pursued the guy to get him to sell it to me for this price as quickly as possible before someone else had the chance to buy it. I got very lucky and bought it for $2500.

The guy who sold me the car drove it into a local honda dealer for diagnosis regarding a large oil leak. After tearing the timing chain cover off etc, they told him the timing chain guide failed because the timing chain wore it completely down. This also led to the chain rubbing a hole in the timing chain cover causing an oil leak. The honda store concluded that due to the car having a lot of metal shavings in the oil will need a new or rebuilt engine.

Attachment 170236

I plan on getting a low mileage engine for it at some point and having it installed with lots of other mods to come. Needs paint and interior work as well.

Hi guys!
Just wanted to introduce myself as I'm in the market for an S2000 and will definitely have some questions once I've found myself an nice AP2.

I used to be a honda nut, had two Mk2 CRX's and a JDM Integra Type R.
I've accidentally become a BMW enthusiast as I've currently got an E30 (2.8 M52) track car and an E39 530i (manual) daily.

The truth is I love all cars and just enjoy anything that gives a good driving experience.

My girlfriend is gonna use my 5 series and I'm wanting to get an S2000 for the day to day.

Cheers,

Rob

I got my hands on a 2000 AP1 last week. the Vin sticker says it's a July 99' model! I traded a Right hand drive 300zx twin turbo for it.....which is my childhood dream car (also my third Z). It's a silverstone with the Red interior, which I am replacing with a black interior this weekend. While this is my first S2000, I have been around them and have done extensive work on two others, owned by my friends. So I am treading fairly familiar territory, for the most part. Hopefully I'll be around for a while!

Hi everyone,
Just bought my first s2000 after around 9 months of looking. The AP1 vs AP2 thing had my head spinning for a while. In the end I decided MY04 or 05 in Suzuka blue was what it had to be. I ended up spending $16k even though my original cap was $12k, but I think I got a good value. All the other cars that were priced for less with higher miles were still priced way above KBB which is what my bank uses to determine how much they will lend. So I had to borrow more to pay less up front.

She is an 05 I picked up from the original owner with 56k mi, completely stock. Cosmetically, not perfect, but close. Mechanically, just the EPS light comes on sporadically, and I lose power steering until I stop and restart the engine. I will be looking into that but otherwise she has been a joy since I bought her at the end of April.

Anyway, thanks to everyone here who shared info that guided me to this car, and helped me feel secure in my decision.

Joshua
