Introduce yourself here! Part II
Sup everyone. New here and looking to further learn more about this awesome car we all love. I don't have my own S2k yet but working on getting one soon. Right now I own a 2006 BMW 330i Sport which I love dearly but I love the S2000 more. Been a fan since they first came out and the time to get one is now. This will be my 4th Honda so I am very familiar with them. Looking to soak up as much info as possible and learn than what I already know.
Hello everyone,
I've been an owner for 4 months now, '02 Silverstone with 19K miles. I'm afraid I'll be putting more miles on it than the original owner did! The car spent most of its life outside of Rochester NY and appears to be well cared for in original condition. I drove it from the north in January at 0 deg F and faced snow, freezing rain, ice and heavy rain. That light back end and summer tires made the drive exciting but I arrived in Texas with a great first adventure under my belt. I'm looking forward to many more.

Hello! Name is Marc new to forums but have read on them for a long time never quite figured it all out but I may as well start where my passion is. I always wanted an s2000 since they came out in 1999. Unfortunately I couldn't afford one until recently after all these years I finally made my dream come true. This past August with the purchase of a super clean, one owner, garage kept 2003 AP1. I had searched the inter web for the best deal for 3 years waiting to find the perfect one to make my move. I was so close 3 times prior but it always seemed at the last minuet something would fall through or go wrong. I came across and add on craigslist of an estate sale there were no pictures in the add but amidst the long list of junk I see the words "2000ish Honda? convertible" my heart skipped a beat I thought it couldn't be but then again what else could it be but an s2000. Needless to say I called the number on the add and a woman answered the phone she told me they were going to hire an auction company at the end of the week to come in and sell everything all at once because she was being inundated with calls. I could feel my heart racing as I searched for the words to convince her that I was not just another joe blow asking about one of the 23!!! lawn tractors that were listed in the add and that I was interested in the "2000 ish convertible" she said her father had bought it new and that it was under a cover in the back of the (heated) garage. She told me she had only seen him drive it once and knew only that it was silver (my 2 color preferences were white and silver) I must have stopped talking because I remember hearing "Hello? Hello are you there?" we made arrangements to meet up and look at the car. 2 days later we meet at the house she opened the garage door and it was completely pack with stuff I mean wall to wall floor to ceiling. I wish I had thought to take a picture but I didn't she said "its in the back" I looked at her with disbelief as the mountain of stuff glared down at me. I was thinking there is no way I am digging through all of this to see if maybe there is a car at the back haha. she must have since this because just as I was about to say ill come back Friday she said "well ill be back in 4 hours to check on you if you can get the car out Ill sell it to you for $4000 (we had not talked price before now but I brought 10k cash that I intended to buy the car with or at least hold it till I got the rest and I was shocked at the number she threw out) My interest fully peaked at the possibility of an ultra low mileage s2000 in silver for just $4000 I agreed that if it looked okay id take it she said fine and left. I knew I wasn't going to clean out a whole garage until I knew for sure it was an s2000 so using mostly ladders I carved a path over the mountain of stuff in the 4 car garage. at about the 1/2 way mark I could just barely see the top of the gray cover I scrambled across the pile to the top of a pile of boxes and there it was in red letters that I had always dreamed of seeing in my garage "S2000" I felt a rush of joy as I moved box after box out of the way to even be able to stand on the floor next to the car... amazingly nothing was set on the car not a single box it was as if the stuff had amassed around the car. I pulled the cover off and there in front of me was the ap1 wheels and front bumper the car was locked but I could see the interior was in perfect condition the cover had done its job and the car itself was clearly loved with a coat of wax and shine that would have made a Mr. Clean commercial jealous. I heard the lady yell from back at the front door "Hello? did you find it? do we have a deal or what? I have a dinner at 6 but if you can get the car out I have the keys and title here if you have the cash lets sign so I can go..." "HELLO!" I bellowed from the back "I'll take it!" "Great come out here and we can finish the paperwork. Are you okay to get it out yourself? "YUUP! I'm good" we singed I paid her she asked me to put everything back in the garage before I left and lock the door and to call her if I needed anything. I worked for the next 5 hours moving things out in a path just wide enough to squeeze the car out of I put the cover back over it and work till 6PM moving boxes finally she was free I got in the car and it smelled brand new I didn't expect it to start but I thought maybe the dash would turn on. No luck No matter I brought a car hauler anyway (cant drive 2 vehicles home anyhow) put it in neutral and pushed in out into the sun for the first time in who knows how long. loaded it on the trailer put all the stuff back in and drove the 2h home 2am Wednesday night. The next day I went and got a new battery for it and ordered tires (the ones there were on it looked like the stock ones and were definitely over 5 years old in any case. put the new battery and turned the car on 23001.7mi I couldn't believe it I couldn't have been happier drove it to the Honda dealer and had every fluid replaced with the highest quality they recommended they put the tires on and I picked it up the next day.

Hey s2ki! I've actually owned my Nfr Ap1 for almost 2 years always referred to this site as the encyclopedia of our problems. I finally decided to make an account an join in on the fun! Thank you guys for all the questions you've answered without knowing. I wouldn't trade my S2k for the world. It was my first RWD car but I come from a long line of civics.

Like a rare barn find but an estate sale find!
Enjoyed your story, Marc.
