I just picked up my first s2000. A 2001 bright yellow with a hard top. 46k miles and it looks like new.
Addicted to nice cars. Also driving an 86 Mustang GT Conv Red with a black top, 180k miles. Original owner. A 2002 Focus SVT with 237k miles that runs like a top. A 99 LS 400 that is a dream and a couple other utility cars.
I have been looking at the s2000s since they came out. Finally decided it was time to take the plunge after driving the SVT and loving the revs. Found this gem on Craigs list. It looks like it rolled off the show room floor.
I have some general questions that I would love to get feedback on. I suspect there are threads for these. I will look around.
First major question is: In gears 1 - 5 around town if I let my foot off the accelerator the transmission seems to hawl much more loudly then I would expect. The sound is at least 2 - 3 times louder than the engine sound. Anyone. Is this normal or am I looking at some tranny work?
Second is what are the recommended sound system improvements? Thinking stereo vs exhaust.

I'm in Sacramento CA, I bought my '01 Silverstone with 95K miles 3 months ago. A couple of weeks after I bought it the check engine light came on. Thanks to information I found on this forum I was able to fix the problem - bad fuel injectors.
I love the car, especially with Spring temperatures! I'm going to drive at my first autocross in a couple weeks where I hope to meet other S2K owners.

Hey everyone, the wife and I picked up our very first Honda, and couldn't be happier. After owning 3 Sentra B13's (2 N/A with around 171whp and 167tq RIP, 1 boosted @ 270whp and 257tq) and an Evo iX @ 321 and 297tq, which the wife currently drives. I picked up an 2k5 s2k. The low tq takes time to get used to, but I love the way it drives out of the box! It'll be my daily DD since my 3rd Sentra is awaiting open heart surgery. Too this day I am enjoying the drive...

My car is blue monaco S2K Ap1, 2002, my name is Bruno and I live in Porto, Portugal.

 

Whats up people-just purchased a 2001 AP1 from a senior family friend who bought it brand new in 01-55k miles. Its Silverstone with black hardtop-black/red interior. I dont have much in terms of modification plans for this-just the OEM front lip and spoiler (not CR) and intake. I just purchased the vinal center console cover and plan on getting the covetted AP2 cup holder/shifter bezel.

I enjoy the car alot and plan on keeping it a long time!

Have just bought a 2009 Monza red for £17,000 which has just done 7,000 miles. Swapped in my Vauxhall VX220 as being an OAP and 68, could not get into it anymore with the roof on!!! Will be picking it up at the end of May,when my divorce settlement comes through. Can't wait.

I've been lurking on here for about 2 years now. I've always wanted an S2000, and now that I moved to South Florida, I am serious about getting one. I have the typical decisions to make, such as AP1 or AP2.

Here is my dream combo:

Laguna blue
Black interior
no drive be wire
no stability control
9k redline

Since the Laguna only came 2006 and 2007, I have been researching putting the AP1 ECU into an AP2. I really want that redline, and I want it reliably, but I also like the updated valve retainers in the F22C, and the AP2 bumpers and rear lights. I prefer 2000-2001 headlights (better Projectors)

I've been searching and researching for about a year now.
