Default Just bought a modded S2000

Hi, I'm a long time car nut who just bought his first S2000. I've owned a bunch of sports cars and hot rods over the years but this is my first Honda. I'm the first owner of a 58K mile 1990 Miata that is in the process of an engine swap. That car is going to my 16 year old daughter. I was thinking of getting a Boxster S but noticed how many low mileage S2000s are out there at reasonable prices.

I bought a 21,000 mile, Silverstone and Red 2001 in Indy from the estate of a lawyer. For a 70 year old guy, he really hot rodded it. The estate auctioneer had some interesting stories to tell. The guy had an M3, Lotus replica (not sure what a Caterham 7, an 11?), a jeep boat tow vehicle, lots of tools and antiques. They had over 400 people at the estate auction and the Linn audio gear was sold all around the globe. While he had lots of toys, he never had a wife and the house was disaster area.

Fortunately, he kept the S2000 and its records in immaculate shape. I drove the car back to Chicago with the wife driving a rented Grand Marquis with a trunk completely stuffed full of extra bits like $100 Mugen thermostats.

The car handles awesome but I don't like the tuning, way too rich. I thought it was burning oil but it appears to have used none in almost 500 miles. I still haven't taken it to the 9000 RPM redline yet.

So this is what I can tell so far that he did to his full price $33,000 car:

Interior:

$400 floor mats
Polk audio speakers including custom rear ones
A different shift knob, not sure if he installed a short shifter, it can be a real pain to get into 2nd and it pops violently out if not correct.
Leather trans tunnel cover and leather shift boot

Chassis:

X-brace under engine
Strut tower brace
Newer Bridgestone tires

Engine/drivetrain:

Mugen Competition ECU - about $1900
Mugen Headers - $1600
Mugen exhaust - $1800
Mugen intake - not sure of cost, partly carbon fiber. The new ones are all carbon fiber and about $1900
Catalytic converter - I think he has removed it, I haven't been under the car yet
Rear end - swapped 4.10 gears for 4.77. $950. The engine is turning 4200 RPM at 70 MPG. Speedo was corrected.

Extras:

Hardtop
Hardtop cover - Honda
Hardtop stand - Honda
Extra new rear tires
Misc spare parts and the original ECU and cat

So I'm not sure if this is a keeper due to the mods. I popped the hardtop tonight and will try a topless drive tomorrow.

I was in a parking lot today sitting in the car on the phone. This fat broad lets her door smash right into the fender, no damage but I gave her a piece of my mind.

Any one know a good Honda tuner in the Chicago area who can help me sort this out for a reasonable price?
