I'm a future S owner, and will be looking at an '03 S later this week. It has relatively low miles (under 20k) and is on its second owner.

Based on my discussion with the owner, it seems as though the car has been driven fairly easily (he's not a kid, and it's not his daily driver). Obviously you never really know for sure.

I plan to have a thorough inspection done w/ a local Honda dealer/S specialist if I like the car... but since these inspections aren't cheap, I want to avoid taking that step if it doesn't seem like the car is worth buying. Last time I bought a car I had to do three different inspections on three potential purchases, and it really cost an arm and a leg.

So - any suggestions on what to look for in terms of bad signs? If you were purchasing a used S, what would rule it out for you? Any advice is welcome and appreciated!
