Im looking at a 2000 but is has some options that i didnt think where offered in 00. The things i have a questions about are it is white with tan leather, It has the tweeters in the door, it has a glass window, and the leather wrap Shifter. Could any of these things have been ordered for this car when it was new or are these things that someone might have added. I checked the car fax and it said 2000 on there i thought maybe the dealership was just wrong about the year. Let me know if you have any insight on this thanks.

 

If it is really a 2000, someone has changed the interior. White was only offered with red in that year, and wasn't offered with tan until '03. Not sure when the door tweeters were introduced by they weren't on the car in '00. Glass top wasn't on S2000's until '02.

Maybe a case of a car that the top was slashed to steal interior??

 

Thats kind of what i was thinking. Do you think it is any thing to worrie about?

 

Does any one know if the VIN is on the black any where and if so where is it. I want to make sure the VINS all match.

 

Shouldnt be a big problem. They just did an interior swap which is pretty common.

Does the car have a clean title?

 

i wouldnt worry about it, most likely just an interior swap.

 

Check the VIN under the trunk lid. If you PM me the VIN, I can tell you immediately what real model year it is. Also, look at the engine number, which is visible on the right side (facing the engine from the front) of the block.

 

Oh, and other than the leather wrap steering wheel (I think all models came this way), the mods you're talking about were done later if this is truly an MY00.

Run a carfax too.
