Thumbs down Misfire & Engine light

Hi all from Yorkshire, England.

I've had my Silverstone/red S2k since November 05, having fallen for it 10 months or so earlier. You can keep your Boxters (too common) and your SLKs (too pretentious) this is a REAL car!

I need a little guidance now though, as I'm having a problem.

I'm only really a weekend and fairweather user (I have three kids), so it does not get a loads of excercise.

It developed a misfire a week ago, which starts when it has warmed up, is stopped and then restarted.

It has not stalled yet, but feels like it is not firing on all cylinders when you try to pull away. In fact, it needs a little revving before it will pull away at all.

I thought it may be the plugs, but yesterday the orange engine light came on - the manual says something about an emission control fault.

Can anyone give me any guidance before I give my credit card to the local Honda dealer?

Best wishes

Nick

I don't know if they have an Autozone equivalent over there, but have someone pull the code. Everyone will just guess why the CEL is on, so you might as well find out the definitive answer. It's really easy to do.

I hope your plugs didn't back off, K6... That's one of the thing I warn new owners of pre MY03 cars.

Best of luck.. Yes, absolutely get the engine code read immediately.
