Default Engine Light

Background:
I had a comptech supercharger and vtec controller installed two weeks ago at the honda dealer where I bought the car (this dealer does that kind of work). The second day I had it back, the engine light comes on; being the concerned owner I am, not wanting to do damage, I took the car in to be looked at right away.

Result: They turned up nothing, and the light didn't come on for them.

Update: I had the car out tonight (with the nice cool air), had it out for about 40 min's running it up. Then was cruising along and another s2 and an sti came on the highway with me (fun time ahead right?).......wrong, as 'luck' and timing would have it the engine light went on and at 6,000 rpm the car acted like I was in red line, and shut down the gas to the engine (it gave off altogether- full power robb- the car was still on).

I'm taking the car in tomorrow first thing and i'm hoping they will find and fix the problem, just thought i'd throw it out to the community and see if anyone either has had a similar circumstance/problem like this or has the mechanical knowledge to take a good guess at what the problem is.

thanks,

Definately sounds like the Vtec controller is not installed properly. Also check that all the plugs on the vtec selenoid are plugged in. You can also check the secondary air injection plug underneath the cross brace to make sure that it's plugged in.

If all those fail, check the esm wiring.

Have you EVER been able to get full boost at redline since the install without a CEL?

I think you're leaving out some critical detail. If the CEL came on for you, are you saying it went off before you took it in? If the light went off, there should be a code left behind. Did they even try to retrieve it? Or did they just mess around with it and waited for the CEL to come back on? Either you're not telling it right or the dealer doesn't know what they're doing. Something doesn't seem to add up.
Nevertheless, it's like SIIK said, it'll be related to electronics or the wiring thereof.

The first time the car was in a vtec code was read; it was cleared and it did not come back on (they were pressed for time). This time, they are running a full diagnostic; they have ordered a new vtec switch for the engine as they suspect that may be the issue (the full diagnosis will tell all hopefully). From what I recall they said, the vtec switch engages the engine to increase the level of oil pressure in order for the car to be enabled for high output (correct me or add anything here, I have limited/no mechanical knowledge and I can't recall the exact details, the synopsis is what I recall).

I have been able to get full boost without the CEL coming on.
I ran the car about 150km's/93 miles yesterday; then took it out at night for another 50km's/31 miles before the light came on.

I appreciate the input/help guys

It's beginning to sound like they didn't wire the VAFC in correctly or they wired it in the wrong sequence in line with the ESM or they haven't set it right or they've got bum connections. Did they SOLDER all connections? This has been a common fault of Comptech installations - crimp connections are NOT good for this application.
