Default "New" 2007 with 200 miles

I put a deposit on a "New" 07 and now the dealer indicates it has 200 miles on it. It the only one in the color I want at a great price, however I am concerned it has not been broken in properly - Should I proceed?

A lot of people here were able to get their car with less than 20 on the clock. Mine had 37 when test drove it on a Friday. Since I missed the credit union's closing hours by 30 mintues, I wasn't able to take delivery until Monday. Believe me when I say that I drove myself crazy the entire weekend worrying about what happed during those first 37 miles. Did some sales guy or car porter beat the snot out of it? Did some yahoo take it for a test drive and mis-shift every shift?

Monday came, I bought the car, and haven't thought about it since (until now of course..... )

Then again, 200 is quite a bit for a "new" car. Maybe you can see if they'll throw in the extended warranty.

I think it varies from person to person. Personally, I feel a little uncomfortable with a "new" car having more than like, 30 miles. 200 is a lot, but there are a lot of people on here who don't even believe in breaking in the engine. Several people have bought new S2000s and then proceeded to drive it like they stole it, redlining it from the very beginning, and their cars are fine even after several years.

So if it really is the right color and a great price, and the test drive is good, then go for it if you're comfortable with the idea

I personally wouldn't buy it considering you don't know how it was treated for the cars first 200 miles. I bought my new 2007 with 41 miles and I was very eerie about it, but that was the only dealership that had my color so I had to go with it. So far everything is working fine with 1500 miles on the clock....
