FNG from NW Ohio, torn between an S2K and new 5.0 Mustang...

Just joined to research and ask questions on the Honda side of the debate.

does the new 5.0 still have a live rear axle if so I think you have answered your own question.

It does. I like the 5.0 because it has tons of power in stock form, lots of aftermarket support (bolt on 507 whp N/A has been hit by JPC Racing and 1003 whp by Team Beefcake Racing, through an automatic, on E85 with a Vortech and tapping on the door of 8's, street driven), everything is generally cheaper to upgrade and I've been in the Mustang game for years so I know my way around them.

Downside, they're outright pigs (3600 lbs), have more blind spots than Ray Charles'house and even though the fit-and-finish is better than any previous generation Mustang, it's still kind of "meh".

On the flip side, the S2K handles better out of the box, can take a mighty f##ton* of boost in stock form, cheaper to buy (even when using my X plan discount for a brand new one, and I found a clean AP1 with 82k for $10,9xx), IMO look just as good as the '13 GT's, 800 lbs lighter, has IRS and are kind of exclusive.

Cons: Takes a lot of power to hit 10's, need to do engine work to go fast on pump gas, IRS's are weaker than live axles, everything is so expensive to modify and FFS, every exhaust system I have heard for them sounds like a swarm of bee's inside of a coffee can!

Now you see where I'm at lol
