New here from NY
Whats going on guys, my name is Joe and I currently live in Rochester NY. I have been into Honda's for quite some time now and have owned my current civic for years. It is a 1990 STD hatch with a fully built d16 making just under 350whp, the car is a blast to drive but its time for something a little newer, and RWD

I worked as a tech at a local Acura dealership for a few years and currently am in my last semester at school and will be graduating next month with a degree in automotive education. I have been thinking about an s2000 for years and I am now soon going to be in a position financially where I can afford one.
Ive been on Honda-Tech for quite some time and have a few friends that own s2000's and heard this was the place to be. I look forward to seeing what this forums all about and becoming a member of the s2000 community.
Any tips/recommendations for a first time buyer would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, I'm located in Rochester also, and active in the Upstate Forum!
It may help people to know what your price range will be since an S2000 can be had from under $10k for a 2000 and more than $25K for newer ones.

depends on your price range. If buying used, dont set your mind on a color as there are several cars out there with very low miles on them.
You've picked the best time to buy an S. Prices are at an all-time low. Keep looking, be patient and you will find a great car I'm sure
oh! and you should post on Upstate as well. We'd be glad to have you on there
on your Civic hatch as well.

Welcome. Just take you time looking for one. With a huge ammount of s2k's available as well as the current market value for them your going to be getting a great deal.
When I picked up my S I went with an AP1 pretty much due to the fact that I wanted to car the way it first came out reving to 9k lol.
If you go that route make sure you go with an 02 or 02 since you get the glass top as well as updated interior accents. Plus they fixed the banjo bolts during those years.
Again pretty much with the way prices are you can pick up pretty much up to 06 for a real nice price. Good luck with your search and maybe I'll see you around when I pass by in May going up to Evan's Tuning.
