New to me 2004 s2k for Track
I am picking up a 2004 s2k that'll be
80% track, coming from a 2002 Boxster S. Hoping to get some amazing tips on driving lines, mods to make, organized track events in Northern or Southern California.

First timer on the track you wont be THAT fast but these mods will really help you.
- brake pads, front and rear will be necessary, get stronger fronts and slightly less aggressive ones in the back
- stainless steel brake lines will help with pedal feel
- good fludis in the car, tranny fluid, engine oil and diff and brake fluid
- tires
- baffled oil pan is also a good thing to have (i dont have one yet, but did ok on 3 track days)

-Getting some winmax pads on; car has stoptech rotors and stainless steel lines already
-Put my f1spec seat with 5pt harness in
-upgrade oil pan
-upgrade radiator
-putting oem front bumper on (the asm rep is in bad shape)
-harddog rollbar being ordered and installed; retains seatbelt use as needed
-adjust current fortune 500 coilovers and alignment (looking to swap that out later down the line... Any recommendations?)
So far its a big difference than the boxster s. Feels like a more aggressive drive style... Hoping to avoid the dreaded oversteer...
Aiming for may 27 laguna secseca run with ncrc.

So you got tired of getting passed by S2000s while tracking your Boxster?

You have the softest era of the S2000, least prone to over steering. But you should get comfortable kicking the rear end out. Its natural in a short wheel base car with a torsion diff. The stock suspension is softer and prone to pushing a lot more then the first few years of the ap1. You will likely find that it pushes too much when you get comfortable with how it behaves (assuming stock tire stagger). Though never driving a Boxter myself, I cant say what your used to in contrast.
