Impossible to even attempt to answer without knowing the shop. Definitely check your regional subforum and look elsewhere as well for reviews and recommendations. It really depends on the specific shop. Not all shops are equal.

I would definitely take it to someone who knows what they're doing, especially when there's sanding and whatnot involved and matching metallic colors. I had my Spa bumper painted by a very knowledgeable guy and he showed me what all he had to do in order to mix and match the paint and it looks great now
Sorry for not replying for so long, I was just too busy with life... Anyway, I took the car to shop, and they fixed the bumper. Looks even better than it was before (it had small chips from parking in SF).
