Default New Owner as SUPERCHARGED as the Car

I have admired the S2k since it was launched, but have not considered owning one until a couple months ago. The kids are older now and my oldest will be getting her license in a few months. An extra vehicle on the way and less need for a family hauler for me.

My first look into this forum was to see if I can fit into my long admired car. At 6' 2", 210, it was a definite concern. This forum told me I'd be okay. Next step, a test drive of an AP1 with 95,000 miles at the local Honda dealership (no intention of buying, just checking the "fit") All good!!!

I watched all the forums, classifieds, autotrader, ebay, etc. daily looking for the right deal. Missed out on a couple outstanding buys due to vacation and work over a six weeks or so, but I finally bought an S2k. A 2002 silver/red, supercharged with only 25k miles!!!

The car is next to perfect. Interior is a 9.5+, only a slight blemish on the driver seat. Exterior is a 9.5+, less than a dozen itty bitty rock chips on hood and front fenders (not even noticeable at 5' standing up). Rims a 9.9, with brand new S-02 tires. Top a 10, with glass. Engine - spotless with a Comptech Supercharger installed in 2003.

I found the car at a Subaru dealer in Fayetteville, AR. I flew out and picked the car up Saturday, then made the near 600 mile drive home to Birmingham. What a blast!!! 25 MPG with cruise set at 80 with the A/C on. Not even a hint of a concern.

Anyway, great forum. I was a member of the Yamaha FJR forum that I thought was the best forum ever. S2ki is definitely more thorough - for many reasons. Glad to be a new member and I appreciate everyone's contributions.

Tonight I washed the bugs off my new baby with my "old" baby - 9 yo daughter. A few pics are attached (I hope)- it got dark so this is it for now. I'll post more pics and more details on the car tomorrow.

Thanks to all members for the wealth of info. If my pics didn't post, call me an idiot nOOB and, please give me instructions.

Steve

Welcome, Steve! What a beauty. S-02s were discontinued a few years ago (not sure exactly when) so you might want to check to see when they were made.

Thanks all.

JulieU - great eye on the tires. They're new. No matter though. I picked up a set of ap2's last night. Getting them balanced and put on now.

Looking good! Respect the car. You have quite a bit of power under your foot. Look into replacing the heat shield that should be next to the exhaust manifold
