Default new to the S2k

Hey, my name is TC. My wife and I just bought an American S2k to replace her Jap Spec RX7. We are station in the UK. I've wanted one for a while, but since I just spent quite a bit on my Impreza, she gets the S2k.

I've been a Honda lover for a while now. 1 GSR, 1 B18C EG (that I gave to her - she won quite a few races with that car), 1 B16B turbo CRX. I left Hondas for the AWD, but I'll admit I couldn't leave Honda for to long.

My wife wanted to boost her S2K, and after some debate has decided to go with a turbo setup instead of a charger. I may have played a part in that, even though everyone else, except me and 2 objective buddies, were telling her SC.

I've heard that if you go with much more power than strandard, it's advisable to strengthen the rear diff housing and the diff itself. Any one know a good place to start reading about that?

I'm sure the boys over in the Forced Induction forum will have all those answers, try wandering over there. Also, I saw Hardtopguy (resident S guru, Hardtopguy.com) yesterday and he is just about ready to come out with a new turbo system for the S. It sounds like a great sytem, get in touch with him and he can give you the lowdown.

Congrats and good luck.

Hey, this is Nat (short for Natalia). I'm tkw24's wife. He may have given me his B18C EG, but I gave him his Subaru! Bought it after the EG was totalled, but decided that I'd rather have an RX-7. I loved my RX-7, but the opportunity to buy the American spec S2K came up, and since I can't take the RX-7 back to the U.S. with me when we leave the U.K., we bought it. I haven't regretted it one bit.

^^ Nice to see you two are enjoying the S. Welcome to the site. I can't imagine there are that many great places to drive in the U.K., bet you can't wait to get it back over here... are you familiar with Ohio Rt. 26? If not, you got to do that when you get back. It's about 90 miles of twisiting elevation changes; it's one intense ride!

Welcome and congratulations! I'm also new to the car, but FAR from new to the love of the car! I'd say that I hope you enjoy it, but we all know you will. Please keep us posted on the boost project!

We're definitely enjoying ourselves. There are actually some good roads to drive on here. We live in a rural area and the road from our house to the military base is full of twists and turns, which is fun. It's basically just a matter of searching for places. We're going to try to go to the Nurburgring later this year.

I can vaguely recall Rt. 26. We'll be here for a few more years, and even though we visit home every year, we don't have any decent cars to drive there! haha.

We'll keep everyone posted once we begin the boost project. I'm still waiting on a few parts to get here.
