New to S2KI
Found my way here thanks to some of the gents at BAT. Definitely going to enjoy looking through the forums and gathering more info.
My intro: just a (Pittsburgh PA area) wife trying to find a clean S2000 (preferably AP2 with specific colors) within budget, to surprise the husband with. He may not end up with his exact dream car, but it'd be a good start with even a good AP1 from what I'm gathering from @70skid @vtec @tbones2000 and a few others on BAT.

Boy, lucky husband. My wife secretly wants me to get rid of the S. Claims she needs the garage space for her banged up grocery getter.
There is a cars for sale thread in Marketplace, within Member S2000 Classifieds and For Sale.
Cars are pretty solid, but check out the S2000 Under the Hood thread if you want to know about the problems. Most of the serious issues are caused, I would say, by the driver mis-shifting at high rpm. This is indeed serious, in that the engine can be damaged and new engines blocks are not, and will not be, available.

Thanks for the tip about the Marketplace, and "under the hood" thread.
As for the wife, maybe she does indeed need that garage space. Perhaps, if I don't win the current S2k I have a bid on, we can work out a deal if the car is a right fit for my situation. Kill 2 birds with one stone ... make your wife happy while surprising my husband too! hahaha!

Prices on the S2000 on BAT are up this year. I was bidding on one in New Jersey a couple weeks before Christmas, but it went beyond what I thought was safe (If I bring a second one home, I have to figure the alimony payments into the price of the car
)
)
You could always try telling her you wanted HER to have one too...his and her cars is much cooler than his and her towels any day. lol But, yeah, not worth a divorce over it by any means.
Roughest thing about the current sales for me as the buyer is knowing there was a FANTASTIC perfect car for him that we came across summer 2019 up in NY and I didn't force the issue for him to drive 45 mins out of our vacation trip (Watkins Glen) to go test drive it and buy it. It was a clean 2004 silver w/ red/black, low miles, and low price. (18k and 21k are the numbers sticking in my head. can't remember at this point which number went with which category miles/price; but either way, I should have went with my heart and FORCED it, not let him talk the logic back into my head on it.
