Hi folks,
I'm a new owner of a 2003 S2000. I've had it about a month and I love it. I bought it with less that 17K on it. I've driven up to Vancouver 3 times since the date of purchase and for some reason the drive doesn't seem long enough.

I did look at the RX8 but the oil and gas consumption was too high.

A few questions.
Does the engine go through oil quick. I saw that you should check it every fillup. Is that true? Also what is the recommended oil?

Are there any groups or clubs in the Seattle area?

The AP2 and later AP1 engines use a lot less oil from what I've read, but you should always check your oil when you fill up regardless of what you drive. Recommended oil is in your owner's manual. Also, there are local communities - they're listed on the main page.

 

First of all Welcome aboard!! Second congrats on your purchase. The AP1 has tendency to burn a little bit more oil than the AP2. I have an '01 that goes through about 1 quart of oil every 3,000 miles. I'm not all that easy on the car either.

 

Check the oil at every fillup. Yes. You'll start to get a feel for how the car burns oil as time goes on. Don't get caught out!
