lol well I have been a member for awhile, I had a 2003 silverstone/black s2k about a year ago and I had to sell it for financial reasons. I have just acquired a 2000 silverstone/black s2k again and im really excited to be back in the scene! I work at an import shop in san marcos I'm the honda/acura tech and this very regular customer came in with his s2000 this last week on a tow truck and I was curios about what happened. I figured it dropped a valve and the motor was toast. So I grabbed the keys fired it up and it started but it sounded terrible! it sounded like it had a really bad exhaust leak so I pulled it in and started checking it out. Compression test read: #1 - 165PSI #2 - 160PSI #3 - 25PSI #4 - 0PSI as you guys know nominal readings on this car are usually around 200PSI and service limit is 134.9PSI so I did a leakdown test, #1 & #2 had the usual high mileage leaks, valves. #3 and #4 were a bit different, #3 was leaking all into the intake manifold so I moved onto #4 and #4 blew all into the exhaust, I figured something broke or failed badly. Asked the customer to okay pulling the cylinder head to inspect and advise him. Upon getting the quote he declided and asked me what I thought the car was worth with a dead motor, (keep in mind the car has 160,000 on the clock) I told him I would give him X,XXX ammount for the car and he said you know what, its yours, I can't afford to fix it and signed the title over! I couldn't belive it!!! I so happy! After work on friday night I pulled the head and inspected, the farthest back exhaust valve on #4 was missing a piece from the seat and it was stuck in the front of the cat! Now I'm going to have the head gone through with all new valves, seats, retainers, keepers, guides and seals. Put new water hoses, a water pump, thermastat and a full timing chain update as well as 4 new tires and 4 rotors with brake pads. Should be up and running soon!
