Default Picked up my S2k ver. Roadtrip

I posted this on another forum... I flew from Michigan to pick up my S2k in Minneapolis and stopped by a forum member's Japanese restaurant.

EDIT: RawFish's comments in Red

Man... totally dragging my feet when it comes to posting pics. Anyway, sorted through some of the pics from my trip last month. Flew out to Minneapolis to pick up an S2000 and stopped by RawFish's Giapponese for some amazing Japanese food... RawFish will have to chime in and help ID some of the fish.

Crap it's early. Gotta get to the airport.

Roadtrip goodies... V1, GPS, stack of cash.

Got to Minneapolis... waiting for my ride.

Here he comes!

Ahh...

Gotta set up the cockpit.

Hmm, where should I eat?

Crap... it's not open yet. Grab some coffee next door and surf CSiOT. (I'm an idiot. I was looking for a coffee shop to hang out so I asked someone on the street. It was LITERALLY next door to Giapponese.)

Grab a seat at the bar. Omakase style!

Check out the knife skills....

O-Toro.. my absolute FAVORITE! Melts in your mouth!

This is sea trout from New Zealand

Ishigari ( type of flounder from japan thats now in season)

Mmm..Uni

fresh pacific uni with washington state hama hama oysters splash of ponzu dab of shiracha, and some negi. nick name "japanese viagra"

suszuki ( stripped sea bass)

the last piece is engowa. Its the flapper or fin on the flounder.

Gotta hit the road... hope I don't get a food coma! I certainly ate enough.

D'oh! Huge accident ahead, freeway shut down!

People are just hanging out on the freeway. Some kids were tossing around some footballs and frisbees.

Finally got to Chicago, S2k has gotta sip some gas.

Indiana unmarked Mustang patrol. My V1 *totally* saved me. I was getting 1 Ka signal coming from ahead, and I see an unmarked Mustang that has someone pulled over. I get a 2nd Ka signal ahead, and see another Mustang drive by the other way, so 1 front 1 rear. Once I pass the pulled over trooper, I get a 3rd Ka signal, so 3 signals from the rear. After a mile or so, the 2 signals drop off, yet I'm intermittently getting a strong Ka signal from the rear. Must be an unmarked Mustang following me! A look in the review mirror shows about 7 cars behind me. I'm chugging along slowly in the right lane, 6 cars pass me and leave 1 black Mustang behind me. Gotcha! He trailed me for about 5 miles, then gave up and gave me a nasty look as he passed me. It was a totally blacked out Mustang with dark tint... pretty cool looking.

Finally got her home!

And now just some pics of the new car...

Nice photo-blog and congrats on the ride

I gotta ask though:

1) What camera, and I guess the restaurant was cool with all the shots?
2) Uhm how much is in that stack?!?!?! LOL!

Thanks.
1) Canon 5D. Yeah he doesn't care. The person preparing the sushi was the owner, I know him through another forum.

2) Not enough.

I got a couple questions for you, since im thinking of doing something similar. Did you test drive it for the first time when you picked it up, or did you have a mechanic in Minneapolis look at it first? Also did you register the car and get the plates before you went to Minneapolis or after?

Cool

I really liked the photos, and 5D? Very nice!

(I was beginning to wonder how much of a steal you got on the AP2 because that stack did look a bit shy to me)
