I got a couple questions for you, since im thinking of doing something similar. Did you test drive it for the first time when you picked it up, or did you have a mechanic in Minneapolis look at it first? Also did you register the car and get the plates before you went to Minneapolis or after?
Yup, the first time I drove it was when I picked it up. I talked to the owner extensively and got a bunch of pictures from him. In Minneapolis the plates follow the car, so I drove back with them. I registered the car in Michigan when I got back.

I flew from Texas to Indianapolis to pick up my S. You can hire inspectors that will go out to the car, take photos and post a report for you online. I forgot who I used but they were very good. There wasn't anything wrong with the car but the inspector even took photos of the 3 tiny rock chips on the bumper cover. Needless to say, there are many many more rock chips today.

I'll see if I can dig up the company that I used for the inspection.

cool story, seeing pictures of it pulling up at the airport, I can almost feel what you probably did, (butterflies in stomach for excitement). That cop was giving you dirty looks because he couldn't read your license plate to dispatch, ha ha ha, or he was jealous you had a better car. welcome

That was exactly how I felt... I didn't get the new plate until I got back. I drove it home with MN plates.

O-Toro is amazing. I have to have it if the restaurant offers it.
