Default Potential owner of '02 S2000

Hello!

I'm on the verge of buying a used S2000 from a private individual. It's a 2002 model and it has only 22k miles on it, which seems too good to be true. Is it suspicious to have such low mileage on a 7 yo.o. car OR are there owners out there that just drive on the weekends?

Also, what should I know about this model year of S2000? (I was just reading about possible problems with "oil starvation" if the car is driven very fast for an extended period of time, which is not something I will probably be doing -- unless I'm on the lam! )

Finally, does anyone know of a good Honda mechanic in San Francisco that's open on Saturdays that can perform a pre-sales examination of this car?

David

I wouldnt worry about the mileage, Most people dont daily drive the car.. they either use it as a weekend car, or just a fun car.. Even I have a daily driver/beater

Definitely not unusual mileage. For many people, the car is just a toy.

Very low miles. I would run the carfax and if it checks out good buy the sucker!!! I just got my 02 from the original owner but it had 73K.

Sounds like the car is going to make someone a happy owner.

As others have said, the mileage is def low but not out of the ordinary. I bought an '02 this spring and it only had 4,702 on the clock -- total weekend garage queen. If everything checks out then go for it! Good luck with it!
