Private seller or Dealership?
[QUOTE=Bullwings,Oct 9 2010, 10:22 PM] Yeah, I figure if you can't bargain the price down, you can make other service/maintenance/parts demands from the dealer.
They'll work with you a little bit more.

I bought my '06 from a Honda stealership for $18,500.
It was "Honda Certified" with 48K miles..I got a 12 month
12,000 mile bumper-to-bumper and the balance of 7year
100,000 mile drivetrain!
I was also happy with the amount of trade in cash they
gave me...
but keep in mind...I had purchased the day before for $21,500
but took the car back after having remorse...the sales mgr. got
very upset/angry..but one of his flunkies the day before had told
me during my period of indecision to "go ahead..take the car..
you've got 3 days".
I took this to mean I could take the car and always bring it back within
a 3 day period...I guess if you have some nerve and no shame lol
then you can always work ot a great deal!
But I have to admit..the dealership is nice..a lot of people work there..
they all dress nice and drive nice cars..just shows the dealership
still made money off of me!
But there was none of the usual....smiles..hand shaking etc.
oh well..I was there to get a great car and great deal....not to make
new friends!
I say, figure out whatever your monthly payment would be; pocket that money for a few months...and then buy private party when you've got a little more money.
For 13k you're likely going to end up with an AP2 that either has really high mileage, has a salvage title, is modded in a way you don't like...or all 3.
If it has to be black, has to be clean, etc... Just save up a little more money. Plus, mostly likely...the price will only get lower between now and the day you're ready.
Good luck to you. You'll find the right one eventually.
