Prospective Buyer - Weekend Car
I've loved the S2000 model ever since my close friend purchased one new in 2000 my last year of high school and we had some great times back in the day! I never got around to owning one personally, but I am now looking to grab one as a weekend/project car for some fun. I figured I would stop here first and do some research on what to look for, avoid, maintain, repair, etc. My daily driver is a 2011 Honda Ridgeline...
Thanks!
Thanks!
Got my S2K less than a month ago, so it's just one complete fillup. Mostly highway driving too but it did do better than I was expecting.
Basically, look for a well maintained un molested example. If maintained diligently the S2000 is probably the lowest cost to operate sports car you can buy.

Thanks guys for all the information and comments. I knew an older gentlemen who had kept his 1-owner in his garage for a weekender also that I had told for years, "Call me first if you ever decide to sell it," but last time I checked in with him he had already sold it. So I'm in search of a similar cream puff.
My wife would prefer I grab a BMW e46 3 series convertible, but they're much slower and require a ton of maintenance/repair from what I've read... She just doesn't want to deal with the process of me teaching her how to drive a manual transmission; I tried in the past and it didn't go well.
