Default Purchasing a S2K

Hello Everyone,

I am a Honda fan and have owned a 1990 Prelude Si, 2001 Prelude Base, and a Civic EG. I am now looking into buying a S2k.

I have a 2001 S2k im looking at with only 28k miles. I am really excited about it but talking to the guy today he made me a little nervous. I took it on a test drive last week and everything seemed really solid. However, talking to him today he mentioned that the rear passenger shock went out. He is replacing it before sending it to a shop to get it inspected.

I think the reason the shock went out is becuase he has comptech coilovers.

Here is an ad for the car. http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/3784886610.html

What do you all think?

That doesn't look bad and the miles are great. Pretty much all the parts he has on it I would change though. See if he still has the OEM intake, wheels and suspension. It does seem odd that a coilover would fail with so few miles on it especially a quality one like comptech but maybe they were used when he bought them? I think its a good deal as it sits and a great one if he has the OEM parts. Just make sure the carfaqs and everything checks out.

For some reason my reply didnt go through. Anyway the spring is fine it was the shock that went out. He doesnt have any of the OEM parts since he has only owned it since December.

Where did you get those orange interior pieces form in your profile pic?

Are you going to take it to your mechanic so they can look over it? Maybe do a compression test?
